PDC Dance Team Requirements

Our company members are expected to meet the following requirements:  

v      CLASSES - Attend weekly company class(es) as indicated below

o        Tiny company – Wednesday 5:30-6:15 and 6:15-6:45  ($65/month)

o        Mini company – Wednesday 5:30-6:15 and 6:45-7:15  ($65/month)

o        Junior company – Tuesday 6:15-7:30  ($70/month)

o        Intermediate company – Jazz technique 11-14 on Monday 7:45-8:30 OR Thursday 6:00-6:45 AND Choreography on Saturday from 10:30-11:15 ($70/month)

o        Senior company – Advanced Jazz technique on Tuesday 7:30-9:00 AND Choreography on Saturday from 10:30-11:15am  ($100/month)

o        Premiere company – Advanced Jazz technique on Tuesday 7:30-9:00 AND Choreography on Saturday from 9:00-10:30am  ($120/month)

v      RECITAL – Company members will be required to perform at all recitals.  The Friday rehearsal, both Saturday performances, and the Sunday performance are mandatory.

v     COMPETITIONS - Attend approximately 2 or 3 competitions.  Some competitions may require traveling (with a maximum distance of 3-4 hours) and an overnight stay.  Competition fees range from $20-$30 per dancer per dance.  Competitions that require an overnight stay will incur hotel costs.  Competition fees, hotel costs, etc. must be paid prior to the competition.

v      COSTUMES – One costume will be worn for the same dance at all performances.  The price will range from $60-$100 each. 

v      WARM-UP – A warm-up (to be worn at competitions, recital, etc) is required.  The cost is $55, plus embroidery costs.  If you have a warm-up from last year, it may be used again this year.

v      ATTENDANCE – Regular attendance is required.  We understand that illnesses, vacations, and other commitments can cause students to occasionally miss a class.  However, we expect our dancers to miss no more than 3 classes during the year.  Please remember that our performance companies are a group effort and all dancers are necessary for the success of the group.

You must register your child for their appropriate company class(es), using the online request form.  This will inform us of who is committed to being a part of our performance companies.  Other dance classes are not required, but would certainly be beneficial to our students.  Any other non-company classes should be registered for as well.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you have any questions.
