CLASS REQUIREMENT FOR PERFORMANCE COMPANY MEMBERS

 Company members must register for the following classes.

o     Topaz – Monday 6:30-7:30 Jazz technique/company rehearsal AND Thursday 5:00-6:00 Ballet

o     Ruby – Thursday 6:30-7:30 Ballet AND Thursday 7:30-8:30 Jazz technique AND Thursday    8:30-9:00 Company rehearsal

o     Sapphire – Thursday 6:30-7:30 Ballet AND Thursday 7:30-8:30 Jazz technique AND Thursday 8:30-9:00 Company rehearsal

o     Garnet – Monday 6:15-7:00 Ballet AND Monday 7:00-7:30 Company rehearsal AND Wednesday 6:45-7:30 Jazz technique

o     Pearl –  Monday 6:15-7:00 Ballet AND Tuesday 4:30-5:30 Jazz technique/company rehearsal

o     Emerald – Ballet (Monday 6:45-7:45 OR Tuesday 7:30-8:30) AND  Jazz technique (Monday 7:45-9:00 OR Thursday 7:30-8:30) AND Thursday 3:15-4:00 Company rehearsal

o     Amethyst – Wednesday 6:45-7:30 Jazz technique AND Wednesday 7:30-8:00 Company rehearsal AND Thursday 5:00-6:00 Ballet

 Monthly tuition rates for company classes are the same as the monthly rates for our regular fall classes.  You will receive a 10% discount off of your total monthly tuition since more than 1 class will be taken.  Your child may also take an extra jazz technique class and/or a tap class at HALF-PRICE the normal monthly rate!

Competition Company Requirements

Attendance – Company members will only be allowed to miss 3 company practices during the season due to illness, school functions (for the dancer) or family emergency. Parents should contact our office on the day of the absence due to illness or emergency in order to be excused. Please give at least 2 weeks notice for absence due to school functions.

Ballet and Jazz Technique – The ballet classes will perform in the recitals.

Choreography – All choreography will take place between August 16-September 11, BEFORE regular classes begin on September 13. The rehearsal schedule will be announced on July 1, and may involve several nights a week for 4 weeks. All companies will know their complete routines before the season begins on September 13.

Routines – The number of routines per company will be based on age and interest within each company. We would like most groups over 10 years of age to have 2 group dances, such as jazz and contemporary. This will increase entry fees and costume fees accordingly. Weekly company rehearsals will be spent reviewing and cleaning all dances. Time commitment each week (after choreography month) for technique and choreography review will be similar to this season for most age groups.

Production Company – We will offer a production opportunity to those who are interested. Production will rehearse on most Saturday mornings in September, October, November and December (tentatively from 9:00-11:00a). Rehearsals in January, February and March will be minimal due to the Woodside/Summit/Homestead dance season. Dancers will be responsible for learning and maintaining their parts through the year. Attendance will be crucial. Permission to be excused from a production rehearsal will be required well in advance.  Tuition will be based on the number of hours we hold rehearsal.

Tap – We encourage tap class for everyone. However, it will not be a requirement this year.  Tap production may be an option for those interested.

Solos, Duos, Trios – Company members will be allowed to audition for a solo, duo or trio on June 29.  Please contact Lisa or Amy for information regarding fees and time commitment. 

Performance Apparel – All dancers will be given a shoe requirement list based on the style of performances they are participating in. Costumes will still be in the $80.00-$100.00 range.  Warm-ups and duffle bags will be required and will be ordered in July.

Competitions – We will attend 3-4 competitions. We will announce our competition weekends in the fall. Please remember that the final schedule is usually not given to us until one week prior to the competition and may require an overnight stay. Company members will be required to attend all awards presentations for their performances. Exceptions will be made if awards are after 6:00p on Sunday.

School Dance Team – A large percentage of the Woodside/Summit/Homestead dancers dance at Premiere. Therefore, we will work around all dance team schedules so that team members will continue to have the opportunity to be in company.  Of course the ideal situation for improvement is to stay in both activities and Lisa will be happy to answer any questions you have about time commitment etc.

Cedar Pointe – We will be taking a Company trip to Cedar Pointe in July. Look for more details soon! This trip will be open to returning or previous company members.

We are really looking forward to the new season with new energy and lots of new ideas to make our next season spectacular!
