REGISTRATION

Our fall schedule classes span the months from September to May.  The students learn steps and technique throughout the season, and begin working on a special dance in January that will be performed at our annual recital.  The recital is always scheduled the latter part of May or the first part of June.  It is a fantastic time for the students to shine, while friends and family show their pride!  

We also offer a summer schedule of classes from June to August.  Summer classes are more lax in the dress code, and of course, only require the commitment of attendance for a few weeks.  A summer class is the perfect opportunity for your child to "try out" a class of interest to see whether they have the desire to continue that particular class for the fall.  

Each student is required to register for dance class, whether it is for the fall or the summer session.  A registration fee is required for each session when a student enrolls into a class.  The fee is $10.00 for existing students, and $15.00 for new students, with a maximum of $25.00 for each family.  Also, a registration form must be completed and turned into the office, along with the registration fee and tuition for each session.

When requesting a class, you may choose an older age category, if your child will be that age by November 1st.  For example, choosing the 9-10 Poms dance class is allowed, if your child is now eight years old, but will turn nine years of age before November 1st. 

Our registration is on a first come/first served basis, and follows a process which is outlined below, according to the time of year.

 

 

Our registration process is as follows:

    1.  ONLINE  - First, our Request Form needs to be filled out.  On the form, you have the opportunity to choose which class, or classes, you are interested in, and give us information that we need to contact you.  There are two instances when classes can be requested online.

a.    Fall Online Registration Week – This week is especially set up for those who are prepared to sign up early before our fall classes begin.  Shortly after our fall schedule is issued, you can request a class online.  After we receive your request, you will be sent an e-mail confirmation within one week, informing you of the availability of the class you requested.  Then within one week of your e-mail confirmation, all tuition, registration fees, and a registration form must be mailed to guarantee placement.  Payment instructions will be given with your e-mail confirmation. 

b.    Open enrollment – Throughout the rest of the season, you may continue to request a fall class online.  After we receive your request, you will receive an e-mail confirmation and/or a phone call to inform you of the availability of the class you requested.  We will do our best to put your child (or you) into the class of choice.  However, if the desired class is full, we will offer a comparable class, if one is available.  Payment instructions will be given previous to the student's first class.  You then need to proceed with the registration process by filling out a registration form.  If you are unable to print our registration form online, we will provide you with one from the studio office.  When your registration form is completed and turned into the office with fees paid, your child is guaranteed a spot in the desired dance class, unless guidelines are not upheld. 

    2.  OPEN HOUSE - Our Open House, held in August, is a perfect time to register in person, whether it is to complete the process from choosing classes online, or the initial registration.  Our studio will be open for you to meet the teachers, browse around, ask questions, order dance attire and PDC LogoWear, and finish everything before classes begin in September.  During this time, we will have our staff helping you to decide which class is best for you and your child.  A registration form must be filled out and turned in, along with the registration fee and tuition for the first month of class.  When your registration form is completed and turned into the office with fees paid, your child is guaranteed a spot in the desired dance class, unless guidelines are not upheld.

    3.  DURING FALL DANCE SEASON -  Even though most classes will be full, especially for the students between 3 and 8 years of age, we continue to have open enrollment.  You may call or come into the studio, where our receptionists, with the advice of the instructors, can help to place your child into an existing class that has an opening.  You may also request a class online as instructed above.  A registration fee, registration form, and tuition will need to be turned into our office prior to the first class.  You can print a registration form online, or acquire a form from one of our receptionists during office hours. 

    4.  SUMMER CLASSES/CAMPS - A summer schedule is usually posted online, and at the studio, in early May.  Sign-up and registration is done by calling, or coming into, the studio and getting your child's name added to a class list.  Payment and registration forms must be taken care of prior to the class.  Online requests are taken through our request form page for the summer classes.

When you register, you are given a copy of our guidelines for the year.  Please read these carefully, and mark your calendars, as all of the dates for the year are included in those papers so you can plan ahead!
